TREMOR for Mac — User Guide

01Getting Started

Install Tremor from the Mac App Store and launch it. On first run, Tremor loads a set of demo tracks onto the decks so you can mix immediately — press play on both decks, grab the crossfader, and you’re DJing before you’ve imported a single file.

The first launch performs a one-time setup of Tremor’s on-device AI models (~10–20 seconds, once per install). Analysis and stem features start instantly on every later launch.

Adding your music

Apple Music library — your local library appears in the Library panel automatically (DRM-protected streaming tracks can’t be mixed; purchased and imported files can).
Files & folders — drag audio files straight onto a deck or into the library. Common formats (MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, and more) are supported.

02Library

The library shows title, artist, BPM, key, and duration. Tracks analyze automatically as they’re loaded; batch analysisPRO pre-computes BPM, key, and mood for your whole crate so everything is ready before your set.

Search — start typing to filter instantly.
Key & BPM columns — plan harmonic transitions at a glance (keys shown in Camelot notation).
Load — double-click a track or drag it onto a deck.

03Decks & Mixing

Two decks free; four decksPRO for layered sets. Each deck has a spinning platter, scrolling waveform with frequency coloring, beat grid, tempo slider, and transport controls.

The essentials

Play / Cue — space-bar play on the focused deck; cue points snap to the beat grid when quantize is on.
Scratching — click and drag the platter, or drag directly on the beat-grid waveform for precise, grid-locked scratching.
EQ & filter — 3-band EQ per deck with a DJ-style low/high-pass filter knob.
Crossfader — hardware-style fader with selectable curves (double-click it to choose a curve).
Hot cues — 4 free, 16 with Pro; loops and beat-jump quantized to the grid.
EffectsPRO — BEAT FX (echo, roll, phaser, flanger, and more) plus SOUND COLOR FX, with interactive parameter graphs.
SamplerPRO — one-shot pads on top of your mix.
RecordingPRO — capture your set to a file.

04AI Stem Separation PRO

Tremor separates any track into drums, bass, vocals, and other on your Mac — no cloud, no uploads. Open the Stems page, press Analyze Stems, and the stems become playable within seconds while separation continues in the background.

Solo / mute any stem live — kill the vocals for an instant instrumental, solo the drums for a transition.
Per-stem effects — target BEAT FX at a single stem.
Beat loops & pads work on stems — loop a soloed vocal, roll a drum stem.
Separated stems are cached — analyzed tracks reload instantly in later sessions.

A spinning orange arc around the stem controls means Tremor is still preparing stems at your position — you’ll hear the full mix until isolated stems take over a few seconds later. Long tracks and mid-song jumps show it briefly; it disappears as coverage catches up.

05Sync & Beat Grid PRO

Neural beat tracking builds a beat grid for every analyzed track — including variable-tempo recordings, which sync via an elastic grid that follows the music instead of forcing a constant BPM.

SYNC — one press matches tempo and phase to the leader deck; the crown indicates the current leader and follows the audible deck automatically.
Grid tools — drag the grid to nudge alignment; tap the downbeat if a track’s bar-1 was detected off.
Key detection — Camelot keys for harmonic mixing.

06Lyrics & Karaoke PRO

Tremor finds synced lyrics for the loaded track and highlights them karaoke-style, in time with the music. Each deck has a lyrics badge; the center panel has a Lyrics page; and the dedicated Lyrics window puts full-screen karaoke on any display.

Backdrops — plain, album artwork, music-reactive visualizer, or the track’s music video.
Second screen — drag the Lyrics window to a TV or projector for karaoke nights while you mix on the main display.

07Video & Visualizers PRO

Video on vinyl — tracks with video play right on the platter.
Video mixing — crossfade video with your audio for a full A/V set, with live streaming (RTMP) to your platform of choice.
Visualizer window — a dedicated, music-reactive visualizer with multiple styles, ready for a second display.

08Microphone PRO

Bring a mic into the mix from the mic popover: pick any input device, set level, and enable talkover — the music ducks automatically while you speak and recovers when you stop.

09MIDI Controllers PRO

Connect a controller over USB or Bluetooth MIDI and Tremor maps it automatically. Factory mappings include the Pioneer DDJ-FLX2, FLX4, and FLX10 (with jog-wheel displays), Numark Mixtrack series, and Hercules controllers — and any class-compliant MIDI controller can be used.

FLX10 owners: deck jog displays show artwork and playhead position, and the 4-channel layout maps to Tremor’s four decks.

10Audio Routing & Cueing

Choose your output device in Settings → Audio. For headphone cueing, use a multi-output interface: with multi-route audioPRO, the master mix goes to channels 1–2 and the cue bus to channels 3–4 of a USB interface, so you can pre-listen tracks the classic way. Hot-plugging devices is picked up live — no restart needed.
