Music Sources

Tremor can access music from multiple sources:

Apple Music Library — Your synced music, purchased songs, and downloaded tracks
Files — Import audio/video from the Files app, iCloud Drive, or external storage
External Drives — Stream directly from USB-C or Lightning drives without copying to device
Recordings — Your recorded mixes and sessions

External Drive Streaming

With Stream from Source enabled in Settings, Tremor can play music directly from external USB drives without copying files to your device. This saves storage space and lets you DJ with large collections.

Files appear in the External Drives section of the Files tab
Analysis data (BPM, key, stems) is cached and persists across sessions
If a drive is disconnected, tracks show an "Unavailable" badge
Reconnect the drive to resume access — no re-import needed

Storage Tip

External drive streaming is ideal for large FLAC or WAV collections. Keep stems and analysis cached on-device for instant loading, while the actual audio stays on your external drive.

DRM-Protected Content

Tracks with DRM protection (Apple Music streaming, some purchases) can only be played, not analyzed for stems. Download tracks for offline listening to ensure full compatibility.

Smart Sorting

Tremor analyzes your tracks and lets you sort by musical properties:

BPM

Tempo (beats per minute)

Key

Musical key (Camelot)

Genre

AI-detected genre

Energy

Intensity level (0-100)

Mood

Happy, sad, aggressive, etc.

Danceability

How danceable (0-100)

Key Matching

Tremor uses Camelot notation for musical keys. To find harmonically compatible tracks:

Same key (e.g., 8A to 8A) — always works
Adjacent keys (e.g., 8A to 7A or 9A) — smooth transitions
Same number, different letter (e.g., 8A to 8B) — energy shift

Filter by Compatible Keys

Tap the key display on a playing deck to filter the library to only show compatible keys. This makes finding the next track much faster.

Pre-Analysis

For the fastest loading during sets, enable pre-analysis:

Go to Settings → Library → Pre-Analyze
Select which tracks or playlists to analyze
Tremor processes BPM, key, genre, waveforms, and stems in the background
Pre-analyzed tracks load instantly during your set

Pre-analysis uses battery and storage, so it's best done while charging and connected to power.

Search & Filter

Quick Search

Type in the search bar to find tracks by title, artist, or album. Results filter in real-time as you type.

Advanced Filters

Tap the filter icon to access advanced filters:

BPM Range — e.g., 120-130 BPM
Key — Single key or compatible keys
Genre — Filter by detected genre
Recently Played — Tracks from your last session
Unplayed — Tracks you haven't played yet

Playlists & Crates

Organize your music with playlists:

Apple Music Playlists — Your existing playlists appear automatically
Tremor Crates — Create crates within Tremor for gig preparation
History — Automatically tracks what you've played in each session

Drag tracks between crates or use the context menu to add to multiple playlists.
