How do I load songs from my music library?

Tap the music library button to browse your local music collection. Skratcher accesses your library on-device only — no data is sent to any server. You can also import audio files from the Files app, iCloud Drive, or Downloads.

Do I need an Apple Music subscription?

No. Skratcher works with your local music library without any subscription. Apple Music subscribers can additionally browse and load songs from the full Apple Music catalog. Non-subscribers can load 30-second preview clips for mixing.

What audio formats are supported?

Skratcher supports MP3, WAV, AIFF, M4A, FLAC, CAF, AC3, and more. You can import files from your music library, Downloads, iCloud Drive, or other locations via the Files app.

How does P2P Dual Deck work?

Connect two iPhones or iPads on the same Wi-Fi network. Each device runs an independent turntable while sharing live audio, playback position, crossfader state, and cue points in real time. Both devices must have Skratcher installed.

Why does Skratcher request microphone access?

The microphone is used for three optional features: live DJ announcements with voice mixing, Shazam song identification, and recording mixes. You can deny microphone access and still use all other features normally.

Where are my recordings saved?

Recordings are saved as WAV files within the app. You can play them back directly in Skratcher or export them via the standard iOS share sheet.

Can I import my own sound effects and loops?

Yes. You can import custom sounds into the SFX pad slots and import your own beat loops from your music library or the Files app.

Does Skratcher work with CarPlay?

Yes. Skratcher includes full CarPlay support for browsing your library, selecting tracks, and controlling playback from your car’s display.

How do I adjust the turntable feel?

Skratcher offers three platter feel presets: Snap (tight response), Medium, and Heavy (Technics 1200-style momentum). You can also switch between Smooth and Raw scratch textures.
