Privacy Policy

MindArray ("we", "us", "our") develops Skratcher, a DJ turntable app for iPhone and iPad. This privacy policy explains how Skratcher handles your data.

No Personal Data Collection

Skratcher does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising SDKs, or any third-party data collection services. There are no user accounts, no sign-ups, and no data sent to our servers.

Music Library Access

Skratcher requests access to your music library so you can load songs onto the turntable. All music library access is performed entirely on your device. Song data is never transmitted off your device or shared with any third party.

Apple Music

If you are an Apple Music subscriber, Skratcher can browse and play songs from the Apple Music catalog using Apple’s MusicKit framework. This communication occurs directly between your device and Apple’s servers. MindArray does not have access to your Apple Music account information or listening history.

Microphone Access

Skratcher may request microphone access for the following features:

• Shazam song identification — audio is processed by Apple’s ShazamKit framework on-device and through Apple’s recognition service. MindArray does not access or store any audio captured for Shazam.
• Live DJ microphone — microphone input is mixed into the audio output in real time, entirely on-device.
• Recording — mixes are recorded to WAV files stored locally on your device.

Microphone access is optional. You can deny the permission and continue to use all other features of the app.

P2P Dual Deck Sync

The P2P Dual Deck feature connects two devices over your local Wi-Fi network using Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework. Data exchanged between devices (playback position, crossfader state, cue points) stays on your local network and is not routed through any external server.

Shazam & Lyrics

Song identification uses Apple’s ShazamKit. Lyrics are fetched from LRCLIB, a public lyrics database. These requests contain only song metadata (title, artist) and do not include any personal information.

CarPlay

CarPlay integration allows you to browse your music library and control playback from your car’s display. All data remains on your device and your car’s local connection.

Data Storage

All app data — preferences, recordings, imported sounds, and beat loops — is stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud service by Skratcher.

Third-Party Services

Skratcher integrates with the following Apple frameworks and third-party services:

• Apple MusicKit — for Apple Music catalog access
• Apple ShazamKit — for song identification
• Apple Multipeer Connectivity — for P2P Dual Deck sync
• LRCLIB — for fetching song lyrics

These services have their own privacy policies. MindArray does not share any personal data with these services beyond what is described above.

Children’s Privacy

Skratcher does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date.
